West Central Nurses Association

The West Central Ohio Nurses Association is one of 22 local districts of the Ohio Nurses Association. Membership in WCONA is open to registered nurses who live or work in Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot counties. Membership in WCONA offers RNs opportunities for involvement in issues of interest to nursing and health care as well as education, discounts and other benefits.

WCONA has a membership newsletter and holds general meeting at various locations in the Lima area. Meetings provide opportunities to meet and network with other RNs. Educational programs are offered on occasion to aid in earning of contact hours for continuing nursing education requirements.

WCONA members take advantage of the opportunity for involvement in the activities of the organization. Members are elected to serve on the Board of Directors, Nominating Committee and as delegates to ONA's Biennial Convention. Participateion in other structural groups is open to any interested member.

WCONA members are kept informed via a district newsletter, which contains district announcements and updates; the Ohio Nurses Review from ONA; The American Nurse from ANA.

General meetings are held during the year at various locations in the Lima area. Meetings provide opportunities to meet and socialize with colleagues over dinner, learn about association activities, provide input to the Board of Directors and learn about topics of interest to nursing.
